I don’t know about you, but in my house my three upland dogs and I find that summer is the toughest of all seasons to get through. It’s the waiting until fall, I think, that becomes tough to endure.

The late fall and early winter bird seasons have closed. A few spring bird hunting and fishing opportunities present themselves, but they can’t be pursued with pointing dogs, so I have to look at those sad setter and pointer eyes if I head out. In summer, it gets so hot, I can’t be out there too long yard-training the dogs. Even if we do,
