My personal hero, the late Roger Latham, Ph.D., made this bold statement to the Sixteenth Class of Pennsylvania Wildlife Conservation Officers at the Ross Leffler School of Conservation in 1975. A renowned wildlife biologist, famous outdoor writer and an avid upland hunter, Latham respected the value of females to the survival of wildlife species, just as nature tends to favor them.
