An excerpt from Road Trip – Wild Buckeye Birds…I hit the road in November. But the trip had actually begun in October.
Allow me to explain. At the American Woodcock Symposium in Roscommon, Michigan, last year, I met Mark Wiley, a wildlife biologist with the Ohio Division of Wildlife. He made the bold move of wearing an Ohio State University pullover to the evening social gathering. A graduate from The Ohio State University myself, I can tell you scarlet and gray are not popular colors in Michigan, especially during football season.
